The dawn’s first light ushers in an encounter spanning past and present, A vision embroidered within the full moon’s glow, Whispers woven into the fabric of reunion— This marks the first ceremonial moment of the new term, And stands as SUIS-HF’s heartfelt tribute to traditional culture.

School leaders, faculty representatives and student protocol members, clad in four-coloured traditional New Year attire and bearing auspicious tokens, radiated warmth as their flowing robes swayed with every smile – a living testament to the enduring legacy of Chinese culture. Amidst the click of cameras, the heartfelt bond between home and school shone through. Students, bearing hopes for the new year, stepped onto campus with spring breezes at their heels.

Amidst the covered walkways sheltering from wind and rain, the garden fair resounded with joyous voices. Anticipation gathered before stalls, laughter rang out during games, and amidst the interplay of light and shadow, the most vibrant essence of youth unfolded. Here lay the most unforgettable moments of adolescence, showcasing our school’s educational philosophy centred on ‘health first’.

The “Tales of the Extraordinary Corner” in the Young Pioneers Room proved a particular highlight of the event. Students transformed into “young orators”, delivering their narratives with confidence and composure, their words flowing with eloquence. Each account brimmed with sincerity, every gaze radiating brilliance. This showcased the innovative spirit and expressive abilities of Xiehe students, standing as a vivid testament to the educational philosophy of “cultivating character through culture”.

At the start of the new term, each class held a themed form meeting led by the form tutor, focusing on psychological guidance as the “First Lesson of the Term”. Aligned with the educational principle of “health first”, the session guided students to prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing, adjust their state of mind, and cultivate a positive outlook. This warm and heartfelt gathering helped pupils embrace campus life with a sunny disposition and robust physical and mental health, laying a solid foundation for their growth.

The splendour of the New Year Lantern Festival unfolds in all its dazzling glory. The dazzling rolling lanterns, a treasure of intangible cultural heritage, gleam with radiant brilliance. Their rounded forms sway in rhythm with the dancers’ movements, harmonising beautifully with the fluttering sleeves. This spectacle not only paints a scene of shimmering lantern light but also carries the enduring charm of a millennia-old intangible heritage.

Hui Ma Qiang blends the elegance of traditional opera with the spirit of martial arts. SUIS-HF students, radiating vigour and radiant with energy, deliver a masterful performance that recreates classic moves, fully embodying the essence and vitality of traditional theatre alongside the beauty of Eastern aesthetics.

一张张脸谱变幻莫测，一招一式尽显国粹神韵。非遗传承人、合肥市龙狮协会成员、国家二级舞龙舞狮教练员裁判员徐阿畅老师以神秘的技艺、灵动的身段，演绎东方美学的独特魅力。学期伊始，学子们感受传统文化的惊艳与震撼；变脸之间，更见证经典与青春的精彩相遇！
The ever-changing masks reveal an unfathomable artistry, while each movement and posture embodies the essence of this national treasure. Mr Xu Achang, a holder of intangible cultural heritage, member of the Hefei Dragon and Lion Dance Association, and nationally certified Level 2 dragon and lion dance coach and adjudicator, showcases the unique allure of Eastern aesthetics through his mystical techniques and agile movements. At the semester’s outset, students experienced the awe-inspiring splendour of traditional culture; amidst the shifting masks, they witnessed the splendid convergence of timeless tradition and youthful vitality!

To our students: gather strength and embark on new beginnings. Principal Ms. Wendy Yu, under the theme ‘Rooted in Tradition, Soaring with Technology,’ profoundly elucidated the direction of education and the mission of responsibility in the context of the new era.
2026年是基础教育从“分数第一”转向“健康第一”的关键之年，也是人类与智能体共生的重要起点。她强调，传统是精神之根，我校通过经典阅读、传统节日等活动，让学生在文化浸润中筑牢精神底色；科技是飞翔之翼，鼓励师生拥抱AI等前沿技术，保持独立思考与创新的勇气，以“既扎根、又飞翔”的姿态，为时代交出最好的答卷。
The year 2026 marks a pivotal transition in basic education, shifting focus from “academic performance above all” to “well-being as the foremost priority”, while also representing a significant starting point for human-AI symbiosis. She emphasised that tradition constitutes the roots of our spirit. Through activities such as classical reading and traditional festivals, our institution enables students to cultivate a robust spiritual foundation through cultural immersion. Science and technology represent the wings for flight. We encourage both staff and pupils to embrace cutting-edge technologies like AI while maintaining the courage for independent thought and innovation. Adopting an approach that is both grounded and soaring, we shall deliver the finest response to the demands of our era.
