As the summer hues fade from the sky, autumn’s splendour fills SUIS Hefei Campus. With the cool autumn breeze, a fulfilling summer holiday has drawn to a close, and a brand-new term has arrived as scheduled. All staff and pupils at SUIS Hefei Campus gathered on campus to jointly launch the autumn term opening ceremony, themed ‘Embark on a Stellar Journey, Towards a New Light’. A grand opening ceremony, brimming with a sense of occasion, childlike vitality and hopes for the coming year, officially commenced.

初秋序启，美好归园。8月31日报到日，协和校园焕然一新、暖意融融。各班完成精致温馨的班级环创，整洁透亮的教室、创意满满的场景布置，营造出治愈又热烈的开学氛围，静静等候全体学子归来。
As early autumn begins, a sense of joy returns to the campus. On 31 August, the day of registration, the SUIS-HF was transformed, radiating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Each class had completed exquisite and cosy classroom decorations; the neat and bright classrooms, combined with the imaginative scene designs, created a soothing yet vibrant atmosphere for the start of term, quietly awaiting the return of all students.
校门口“启星程，向新光”主题标语醒目亮眼，校级领导、中层干部、教师代表与学生小督导早早守候在校门前，以温柔的笑容与饱满的热忱，迎接同学们踏秋归园、奔赴新程。
The theme slogan ‘Embark on a Stellar Journey, Towards a New Light’ stood out prominently at the school gates. School leaders, middle management, teacher representatives and student marshals were waiting at the gates from early on, greeting the students as they returned to campus in the autumn and set off on their new journey with gentle smiles and boundless enthusiasm.
中学部大厅内，“旅途新足迹，游学阅世界”主题展区格外亮眼。中国、世界地图展板整齐陈列，全校师生积极提交暑期旅行照片与手写感悟明信片，将夏日游历的城市足迹、见闻与思考，一一粘贴在对应点位。纵横交错的航线串联起山河万象，生动记录了协和学子行走天地、丰盈自我的成长瞬间。一旁的毕业生录取通知书展示区熠熠生辉，一张张亮眼的录取通知书，是学长学姐深耕学业的丰硕成果，也为全体学子树立鲜活榜样，激励大家向优秀看齐、逐光奋进。
In the secondary school lobby, the exhibition area themed ‘New Footprints on the Journey: Travelling and Learning About the World’ stood out particularly. Display boards featuring maps of China and the world were neatly arranged, and teachers and pupils from across the school enthusiastically submitted photographs from their summer travels and handwritten postcards sharing their reflections, which were then affixed one by one to the corresponding locations on the maps, marking the cities they had visited and recording their observations and thoughts. The criss-crossing flight routes connected the diverse landscapes of the country, vividly documenting the moments of growth as SUIS-HF students explored the world and enriched themselves. Nearby, the display area showcasing graduates’ university offers shone brightly; each impressive letter of acceptance represented the fruitful results of senior students’ dedicated academic efforts, setting a vivid example for the entire student body and inspiring everyone to aspire to excellence and strive towards the light.
为帮助一年级新生快速熟悉校园环境、消除入学陌生感，学校特别安排学生小督导带队游园打卡活动。优秀学生督导化身校园小小讲解员，带领新生依次游览校园五大特色场馆，细致解说校园功能与礼仪规范，沉浸式解锁协和校园新地图。
To help first-year students quickly familiarise themselves with the campus environment and ease any initial feelings of unfamiliarity, the school has organised a campus tour and photo challenge led by student guides. Outstanding student guides act as young campus tour guides, leading new students on a tour of the campus’s five distinctive venues, providing detailed explanations of the campus facilities and etiquette guidelines, and helping them discover the SUIS-HF in an immersive way.
报到日尾声，各班有序开展开学主题班会。教室内暖意融融，同学们踊跃分享暑假见闻、交流成长收获、畅谈新学期目标。在班主任的引导下，大家收心聚力、调整状态，做好身心调适，为新学期学习生活蓄力赋能。
As the registration day drew to a close, each class held an orderly class meeting on the theme of the new term. The atmosphere in the classrooms was warm and welcoming, with pupils enthusiastically sharing their summer holiday experiences, discussing their personal growth and achievements, and talking about their goals for the new term. Under the guidance of their form tutors, everyone refocused their minds, regrouped, adjusted their mindset and prepared themselves physically and mentally, building up their energy and readiness for the academic life ahead.

秋风启程，少年归来。9 月 1 日，新学期正式拉开帷幕。清晨的协和校园朝气蓬勃、暖意融融。各班以班级为单位，有序前往校园主桁架、暑期足迹地图展示墙打卡合影，定格全员归校的美好瞬间，留存新学期专属记忆。老师们随机采访同学们的暑期旅行心得，倾听少年们行走山河、阅见世界的成长感悟，让假期的阅历成为新学期成长的底气。
As the autumn breeze heralds the start of a new term, the pupils return to school. On 1st September, the new term officially began. Early in the morning, the SUIS-HF was brimming with vitality and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Each class gathered in an orderly fashion to take group photographs at the main truss and the ‘Summer Footprints’ map display wall, capturing the wonderful moment of everyone’s return to school and preserving special memories of the new term. Teachers conducted impromptu interviews with pupils about their summer travel experiences, listening to the young students’ reflections on their journeys through the countryside and their encounters with the wider world, ensuring that their holiday experiences would serve as a foundation for their growth in the new term.
上午九点，开学典礼在庄严有序的升旗仪式中拉开序幕。五星红旗在国歌声中缓缓升起，这一刻的庄重，成了开学第一课里最深刻的家国注脚。
At 9.00 am, the opening ceremony commenced with a solemn and orderly flag-raising ceremony. As the national anthem played, the Five-Star Red Flag was slowly raised; the solemnity of that moment served as the most profound reminder of our nation and homeland during the first lesson of the new term.
典礼现场精彩纷呈、活力绽放。三年级学子带来节目《神奇之声》，清亮纯净的童声娓娓吟唱，诉说童真心事与少年期许；高中学子带来精彩的军训特色展演，身姿挺拔、步履铿锵，以飒爽英姿展现协和学子蓬勃向上的青春力量，现场掌声不息、氛围热烈。
The ceremony was a vibrant and spectacular event. P3 pupils performed ‘Magical Voices’, their clear, pure voices singing gently to express the thoughts of childhood and the hopes of youth; high school pupils presented a spectacular military training display, standing tall and marching with a resolute stride, showcasing the vibrant, upward-striving youthful energy of SUIS-HF students with their spirited demeanour. The audience responded with unceasing applause, creating a fervent atmosphere.
新学期开学典礼上，喻霞校长热烈欢迎同学们平安返校。她以别开生面的 “暑假见闻分享”，从世界机器人大会的“具身智能”、尼泊尔冰川崩塌灾情，到女排亚锦赛五局鏖战惜败的瞬间，借三件跨度迥异的事件引发师生思考，号召大家在人工智能时代守护提问的勇气、共情的温度，珍视人与人之间真实的联结，守护不可替代的“心”力量。
At the new term’s opening ceremony, Principal Ms. Wendy Yu warmly welcomed the pupils back to school safe and sound. She began with an engaging ‘summer holiday experiences’ session, spanning from ‘embodied intelligence’ at the World Robot Conference and the glacial collapse disaster in Nepal to the heart-stopping moment when the women’s volleyball team narrowly lost a five-set battle at the Asian Championships. Drawing on these three vastly different events, she prompted reflection among staff and students, calling on everyone to safeguard the courage to ask questions and the warmth of empathy in the age of artificial intelligence, to cherish genuine human connections, and to preserve the irreplaceable power of the ‘heart’.

As the ceremony draws to a close, our journey of growth continues, and we press on undeterred. The canvas of the new academic year has now been unfurled. May all SUIS-HF students draw upon the love and growth they have gained from the summer’s landscapes, and, with sincere ideals and burning passion, devote themselves wholeheartedly to their studies and flourish on the fertile ground of SUIS Hefei Campus.
