The fragrance of osmanthus drifts over the blue-tiled roofs, moonlight softly illuminates the window lattices. SUIS Hefei Campus draws upon traditional culture as its brush, and the ingenuity of its students as its ink, hosting an immersive feast of traditional culture. Students traverse the ages, where the warm glow of lanterns, the sweet aroma of mooncakes, and the rhythmic cadence of poetry, all weave a moving narrative.

一年级萌娃与家长共赴“织灯之约”，软萌的玉兔灯似跃出灯面，璀璨的星空灯藏着银河碎影，嫦娥倚桂的诗意画卷在灯笼上徐徐展开。外教亦倾心参与，创意与传统碰撞出别样火花。“月光精灵”错落悬挂于小学部大厅，定格成最珍贵的中秋记忆。
The P1 children and their parents went to the “Lantern Weaving Party”. The soft and cute Jade Rabbit lantern seemed to leap out of the lantern, the bright starry sky lantern hid the shattered image of the Milky Way, and the poetic picture of Chang’e leaning on the osmanthus tree unfolded slowly on the lantern. The foreign teachers also participated enthusiastically, and creativity and tradition collided to create a unique spark. The “Moonlight Elf” was hung scatteredly in the lobby of the primary school, capturing the most precious Mid-Autumn memory.
二年级教室里，月球灯的暖光悄然绽放。孩子们亲手打造的“明月”在风雨连廊错落排布，宛如夜空中的星子坠落人间。
In the P2 classroom, the warm glow of moon lamps quietly blossomed. The children’s handcrafted “bright moons” were arranged in staggered rows along the covered walkway, resembling stars fallen from the night sky to earth.
三年级的孩子化身“小小月饼师”，揉软润面团如揉云絮，裹清甜馅料似藏月光，模具轻压间，精致花纹绽放于面皮之上。一个个圆滚滚的月饼，藏着对家人的思念，也裹着对中秋的期盼。
P3 pupils transform into “little mooncake artisans”, kneading soft dough as fluffy as clouds and wrapping sweet fillings as if concealing moonlight. With a gentle press of the mould, intricate patterns blossom upon the pastry. Each plump, round mooncake holds within it longing for family and anticipation for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
古艺焕新颜，匠心传薪火

非遗技艺进校园，于指尖焕发新生。308教室，庐州面塑清香袅袅，孩子们轻揉彩面团，玉兔灵动、桂花雅致的造型跃然手中，千年技艺在稚嫩掌心绽放魅力。国学教室内，六年级学子专注柳编，散落竹条勾勒出玉兔望月的轮廓，古韵在纹路里流淌。七年级浮雕创作课堂上，学子手握刻刀在板材上勾勒中秋线条，匠心与童趣凝于刻痕，非遗雅致浸润心灵。
Intangible cultural heritage crafts enter the school grounds, finding new life at the fingertips. In Classroom 308, the delicate fragrance of Luzhou dough modelling wafts through the air. Children gently knead coloured dough, bringing to life nimble jade rabbits and elegant osmanthus blossoms. A thousand-year-old craft unfolds its charm within their tender palms. Within the classical studies classroom, P6 pupils focus intently on willow weaving, scattered bamboo strips tracing the outline of a jade rabbit gazing at the moon, ancient charm flowing through the intricate patterns. In the S7 relief carving workshop, students wield chisels to etch Mid-Autumn motifs onto wooden panels, where craftsmanship and childlike wonder merge in each carved line, the elegance of intangible heritage permeating their souls.

四、五年级的同学们则化身“文化小使者”，用流利英语讲述中华传统故事，双语交织间，中国中秋的浪漫与温情跨越语言，传统韵味在国际表达中焕发新彩。
Pupils in P4 and P5 transformed into “cultural ambassadors”, narrating traditional Chinese tales in fluent English. Through this interweaving of languages, the romance and warmth of China’s Mid-Autumn Festival transcended linguistic barriers, while the charm of tradition shone anew in its international expression.
六、七年级学子们以诗为媒，共赴一场中秋文化盛宴。选字成句环节考验临场应变，选手们在限定时间内串联诗句，尽显才思；最精彩的 “飞花令” 环节，以 “月”“秋”“桂” 为关键字，选手们轮番接句，“明月松间照”“却道天凉好个秋” 等诗句脱口而出，古人笔下的浪漫月夜徐徐铺开。
Pupils from P6 and S7 gathered for a cultural feast celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, using poetry as their medium. The character-selection verse-composition segment tested participants’ quick thinking, as they linked poetic lines within a time limit, showcasing their literary flair. The most thrilling ‘Flying Flower Challenge’ segment, centred on the keywords ‘moon,’ ‘autumn,’ and ‘osmanthus,’ saw contestants taking turns to complete verses. Lines such as ‘The bright moon shines through the pines’ and ‘Yet they say autumn’s chill is truly splendid’ flowed effortlessly, gradually unfolding the romantic moonlit nights depicted by ancient poets.
八、九年级的英文诵读同样动人。孩子们饱含深情，诵读着描绘月色的英文诗篇。别样的语言韵律中，中秋的主题有了跨文化的表达。
The English recitations by S8 and S9 were equally moving. With heartfelt emotion, the children recited English poems depicting moonlight. Through the unique rhythms of another language, the theme of the Mid-Autumn Festival found cross-cultural expression.
