小学步入初中是孩子成长路上的重要转折。为帮助家长更好地理解小初教育差异,缓解焦虑情绪,8月31日下午,合肥市包河区协和双语学校举办了以“和孩子一起上初中”为主题的访谈式新生家长见面会。

The transition from primary to secondary school marks a significant turning point in a child’s development. To assist parents in better understanding the educational differences between the two stages and alleviate anxiety, SUIS Hefei Campus hosted an interview-style orientation meeting for new parents on the afternoon of 31st August, themed ‘Embarking on Secondary School Together with Your Child’.

The event commenced with a montage video showcasing campus activities, creating a warm and positive atmosphere. In her opening address, Principal Ms. Wendy Yu, emphasised that home-school collaboration is key to facilitating children’s smooth transition, calling upon parents and the school to join hands in fostering the holistic development of every child.

在学科访谈环节,语文、数学、英语学科教师分别围绕家长关心的内容,剖析小初学科差异,帮助家长掌握辅导方法。悦心驿站的丁老师更是针对学生初中阶段心理发展差异和如何帮助家长与孩子建立良性的亲子关系给出切实可行的措施。

During the subject-specific interview segment, teachers of Chinese, Mathematics and English respectively addressed parental concerns by analysing the differences between primary and secondary school curricula, thereby equipping parents with effective tutoring methodologies. Ms. Ding from the Wellbeing Counseling Room further provided practical measures concerning psychological development variations during secondary education and how parents may foster constructive parent-child relationships.

为了让孩子们得到更好的成长、更温暖的陪伴,张老师和家长们共同探讨了学院制是什么、为什么做、怎么做;并将学院制的“和·合”精神贯穿始终。陈主任则就家校中的常见问题与大家做分享,如沟通方法、中学生的行为习惯养成以及学校常规作息时间,明确家校合作的具体分工,希望家长们能借助新学期的势头给予孩子们新的期待和陪伴。

To foster children’s growth and provide warmer companionship, Ms. Zhang and parents jointly explored the essence, rationale, and implementation of the college system, ensuring its core spirit of “harmony and unity” permeates all aspects. Director Mr. Chen addressed common home-school concerns, such as communication methods, cultivating secondary pupils’ behavioural habits, and adhering to the school’s routine timetable. She clarified the specific division of responsibilities in home-school collaboration, encouraging parents to harness the momentum of the new term to offer their children renewed expectations and companionship.
