为了构建学校、家庭、社会三位一体的教育体制,确保家庭、社会与学校教育密切配合、有效监督,合肥市包河区协和双语学校高中部于10月20日召开了2023-2024学年家委会会议,并隆重举行了高一年级家委会成立仪式。学校期许家委会充分发挥其作用,成为家校沟通的坚实桥梁,解决学生求学过程中的各种难题,为学生成长提供支持,既是学校的得力助手,更是家长们的共同园地。

In order to establish a holistic educational system encompassing school, family, and society, ensuring close coordination and effective supervision of family and societal involvement in school education, the high school department of SUIS, Hefei convened the 2023-2024 school year Parent Committee meeting on October 20th. The occasion was graced with the grand establishment ceremony of the Parent Committee for the freshman year. The school envisions the Parent Committee playing a pivotal role, serving as a robust bridge for communication between home and school, addressing various challenges students face in their learning journey, and contributing to students’ development. The Parent Committee is expected to be not only a valuable assistant to the school but also a shared space for parents.
因为孩子,我们相遇、相知,这是一种缘分。会议伊始,家委们依次介绍自己的职业、孩子入校后的变化和成长,也表达了对学校的认可和感激。温馨、和谐、热情、向上的氛围为所有与会者注入了信心和力量。

Because of our children, we come together and get to know each other; this is fate. At the beginning of the meeting, Parent Committee members sequentially introduced their professions, the changes and growth observed in their children since enrollment, and expressed appreciation for the school. The atmosphere was warm, harmonious, enthusiastic, and uplifting, instilling confidence and strength in all attendees.
随后,葛玉峰副校长为高一年级家委颁发了聘书。这份聘书不仅是对家委们的信任,更是一份重大责任。“大家首先是家长,其次才是家委”,他希望大家时刻铭记这个定位,所有行动都要从学生的利益出发。

Following this, Timothy Ge, Vice Principal of the school,presented letters of appointment to the Parent Committee members for Grade 10. These letters symbolize not only trust in the Parent Committee but also a significant responsibility. “First and foremost, you are parents; secondly, you are committee members,” he emphasized, urging everyone to constantly remember this positioning, with all actions stemming from the best interests of the students.

 

 

葛副校长向家委们介绍了教育强国的“大教育观”,强调“五育并举、全面发展”——培养学生的道德品质、知识水平、身体健康、审美情趣和劳动技能;“综合素质、多元能力”——拓宽知识面,增强学科联系,建构全面丰富的学科知识结构,关注学生发展问题解决、创新与批判性思维、团队协作等多元能力;“联系实际、学以致用”——即在家庭、学校和社会不同的学习情境中锻造综合能力。他进一步提出了家校社协同育人与学生综合素养培养的三个着力点,包括领导力、批判性思维和创造性、社区参与和服务。接着,分享了家校社协同育人模式的构想,明确了协同主体、协同目标和协同功能。最后,他简要交流了学校工作开展情况和下一阶段的工作目标。

Timothy Ge introduced the “Great Education Perspective” for building a strong education nation. He emphasized the principle of “comprehensive development through the simultaneous cultivation of five aspects,” namely, fostering students’ moral qualities, knowledge levels, physical health, aesthetic sensibilities, and labor skills. He further highlighted “comprehensive qualities and diverse abilities,” encouraging broadening knowledge, enhancing subject connections, and constructing a rich and comprehensive knowledge structure, focusing on the development of students’ problem-solving, innovation and critical thinking, teamwork, and other diverse abilities. The third aspect is “linking theory with practice,” promoting comprehensive abilities in different learning contexts within families, schools, and society. He then proposed three key points for the collaborative cultivation of students’ comprehensive qualities between home, school, and society, emphasizing leadership, critical thinking, creativity, community involvement, and service. He also shared the envisioned model for collaborative cultivation, specifying collaborative subjects, goals, and functions. Finally, he briefly discussed the school’s ongoing initiatives and outlined the goals for the next phase.

 

 

会议的最后环节是家校进行工作讨论,商议了开设家长课堂、拓宽学生职业探索资源、提升家长认知等事宜。期间,高中部陈金凤副校长以“融洽亲子关系、助力孩子成长”为主题,与家长分享了一些教育理念和方法,涉及了家长困扰的四个问题:

1.总是看到孩子的缺点怎么办?

2.当看到孩子玩手机不学习怎么办?

3.孩子不愿意与我沟通怎么办?

4.发现孩子自伤自残怎么办?

她呼吁家长要深入了解孩子,多陪伴、多交流,关心孩子的每一天,关注孩子的每个变化,并与老师多沟通,必要时寻求专业帮助。

The concluding segment of the meeting involved discussions between parents and the school, focusing on initiatives such as organizing parent classes, expanding resources for student career exploration, and improving parental awareness. During this session, Tricy,Deputy Principal from the high school department addressed parents on the topic of “Harmonious Parent-Child Relationships, Supporting Children’s Growth,” sharing educational philosophies and methods. She addressed four common concerns among parents: 

1. What to do when always noticing the child’s shortcomings?

2. How to handle a situation where the child plays with the phone instead of studying?

3. What to do when the child is unwilling to communicate?

4. How to respond when discovering self-harm tendencies in the child?

She advocated for parents to deeply understand their children, spend more time with them, communicate more, care about every day of their child’s life, observe every change, and engage in regular communication with teachers, seeking professional help when necessary.
此次家委会的召开不仅拉近了家长与学校之间的距离,更调动了家委们的主动性和积极性。希望通过这次会议,各位家委能够清晰明确自己的定位,发挥所长,为孩子的成长和发展与学校携手共进,同心协力,共同筑就孩子美好未来的基石!
The convening of this Parent Committee not only bridged the gap between parents and the school but also stirred proactive and positive engagement from Parent Committee members. It is hoped that through this meeting, each Parent Committee member can clearly define their role, leverage their strengths, collaborate sincerely with the school, and work together wholeheartedly to build the foundation for a bright future for our children!
