明月当空洒银玉，又是一年团圆日。秋风送爽庆国庆，硕果飘香迎中秋。为进一步培养学生的爱国情感，弘扬中华优秀传统文化，增强文化自信，值此一年一度的国庆节和中秋佳节到来之际，协和双语学校小学部开展了以“团圆十月，喜迎华夏中秋‘家’节”为主题的传统文化周活动。

The moon is shining in the sky, and it is another year of reunion. The autumn breeze sends refreshing National Day, fruitful and fragrant to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival.In order to further cultivate students’ patriotic feelings, carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture and enhance cultural self-confidence, on the occasion of the annual National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the Primary School Section of SUIS Hefei carried out traditional culture week activities with the theme of “Reunion in October, Welcome to the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival”.

玩转数学，

“七巧板说十二生肖”

Playing with Maths,

“Tell The Chinese Zodiac With Tangrams”

当传统文化遇上数学，会碰撞出怎样的火花呢？一年级的小萌宝们在老师的带领下开启了“七巧板说十二生肖”的特色数学之旅。老师们详细介绍了七巧板的演变历史、十二生肖的由来，以及如何用七巧板拼出各种有趣的图案，并现场进行了拼搭演示。一双双充满好奇的小眼睛表达着对活动的期盼。

When traditional culture meets mathematics, what kind of sparks will collide? The P1 children were led by their teacher to start a special maths journey of “Tell The Chinese Zodiac With Tangrams”. Teachers introduced in detail the history of tangrams, the origins of the Chinese zodiac, and how to use tangrams to put together various interesting patterns, and carried out on-site demonstrations. A pair of curious little eyes expressed their anticipation for the activity.

 

 

活动当天，孩子们摩拳擦掌，跃跃欲试。在老师的指导下，一个个活灵活现的小动物跃然纸上。孩子们踊跃介绍自己的作品：“老师你看，我拼的是小狗”“老师你看我拼的山羊像不像”“老师你看，这是是马的尾巴，这是他它的耳朵”……

On the day of the activity, the children were eager to try. Under the guidance of the teacher, a vivid little animal appeared on the paper. The children enthusiastically introduced their own works: “Look, teacher, I put together a puppy,” “Look, teacher, I put together a goat like this,” “Look, teacher, this is a horse’s tail, and this is his ears! “……

 

最后，老师们在众多作品挑出了优秀作品，并进行了颁奖。本次“七巧板说十二生肖”活动也在孩子们串串银铃般的笑声中落下了帷幕。

At last, the teachers picked out the outstanding works and presented the prizes. The activity of “Tell The Chinese Zodiac With Tangrams” also came to an end with the children’s laughter like silver bells.

二年级组进行了以“中华民族一家亲，同心共筑中国梦”为主题的系列活动。在班主任和语文老师的带领下，孩子们分小组对少数民族的各项习俗进行探究，并制作出精美的知识板报。

The P2 group carried out a series of activities with the theme of “Chinese Nation is One family, Building the Chinese Dream Together”. Led by the class teachers and language teachers, the children explored the customs of ethnic minorities in small groups and produced beautiful knowledge boards.

 

9月28号当天，孩子们穿着鲜艳的民族服饰，把协和校园打扮得绚丽多彩。

少数民族大联欢开始啦！少数民族T台秀、少数民族歌、热场舞、《爱我中华》大合唱……孩子们在舞台上开心地笑着、唱着、舞着、蹈着。这是属于孩子们的专属舞台。

The Ethnic Minority Gala has begun! Ethnic minority catwalk show, ethnic minority songs, hot dance, “Love My China” chorus …… The children were happy laughing, singing, dancing and dancing on the stage. This is the exclusive stage belonging to our children.

知识问答环节中，大家热情高涨，争先恐后地介绍本民族的风俗习惯和特色。抢答正确的小朋友正美滋滋地品尝着民族的特色美食。

In the knowledge quiz session, everyone was enthusiastic and competed to introduce the customs and characteristics of their ethnic groups. The children who got the answers right were enjoying the specialities of their ethnic groups.

通过本次民族文化探究活动，孩子们不仅学到了民族知识，还品尝到了民族美食，切身感受到了“中华民族一家亲，同心共筑中国梦”。

Through this ethnic culture exploration activity, the children not only learnt ethnic knowledge, but also tasted ethnic food, and felt “Chinese Nation is One family, Building the Chinese Dream Together”.

Ya-Shang SUIS Hefei Cheongsam Exhibition

“旗艺东方美，一品中华韵。”随着人们的生活方式和审美情趣的变化，旗袍演绎出多姿多彩的样式，其中以民国时期的旗袍最为典型。

“Cheongsam Art Of Oriental Beauty, A Taste Of Chinese Rhyme.” With the changes in people’s lifestyle and aesthetic interests, cheongsams have been interpreted in a variety of colourful styles, of which those of the Republican period are the most typical.

受安徽省博物馆旗袍展启发，在本届传统文化周中，协和双语学校小学部三年级学生以美术展的形式展现了旗袍的形之美、色之美和韵之美。孩子们有的以小组合作的形式制作大旗袍，也有个人创作的小旗袍。他们精巧的设计和天马行空的想象让每一位驻足的观赏者感受到传统服饰独特的魅力。

Inspired by the cheongsam exhibition at the Anhui Provincial Museum, the third grade students of the Primary School Section of SUIS Hefei presented the beauty of the shape, colour and rhythm of the cheongsam in an art exhibition during this Traditional Culture Week. Some of the children worked in groups to make large cheongsams, while others created small cheongsams individually. Their exquisite designs and wild imaginations made everyone who stopped by feel the unique charm of traditional costumes.

千里共婵娟，美味“饼”团圆

A Thousand Miles, A Taste Of Reunion

时光荏苒，在盛夏和金秋相交的日子里，一年一度的中秋节携着金色的馨香如约而至。“小饼如嚼月，中有酥和饴”是中秋节特有的诗意与浪漫。为了让学生更好地体验中秋佳节的团圆氛围，进一步增强对中国传统文化的理解与认同，协和双语小学部四至六年级开展了中秋月饼DIY活动。

As time passes, the annual Mid-Autumn Festival comes with a golden fragrance at the crossroads of summer and autumn. “Small cakes like chewing the moon, with crispy and syrup in them” is the unique poetry and romance of the Mid-Autumn Festival. In order to let students better experience the reunion atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival and further enhance their understanding and recognition of traditional Chinese culture, SUIS Hefei Primary School Section from P4 to P6 launched a Mid-Autumn Mooncake DIY activity.

 

月饼DIY活动现场热闹非凡。孩子们的喜悦兴奋之情溢于言表，迫不及待的开始了冰皮月饼的制作。他们先小心翼翼地取一块面团轻轻揉搓，就像是月亮皎洁的月光，柔软而富有弹性；接着选上自己喜欢吃的馅料包好，放入精心挑选的模具中用力一压，一枚精致又美味的冰皮月饼就做好啦！最后同学们将做好的月饼放入漂亮的包装盒，将这份美味带给家人分享品尝，节日的美味与快乐加倍。

The mooncake DIY activity site was bustling with activity. The children were overflowing with joy and excitement and could not wait to start making the mooncakes. They first carefully took a piece of dough and gently kneaded it, just like the bright moonlight of the moon, soft and elastic; then they chose their favourite fillings and wrapped them up, put them into the carefully selected moulds and pressed them hard, and then a delicate and delicious iced mooncake was ready! Finally, the students put the mooncakes into a beautiful box and brought them to their families to share and taste, doubling the flavour and happiness of the festival.

“中天一轮满，秋野万里香”，这是家国同庆的中秋；“有水千江月，无云万里天”，这是岁月静好的中秋。万家共盛世，明月话团圆。为赴明月之约，为贺祖国之诞。山河远阔，人间烟火，又一年千里共婵娟。协和学子用一场场别样的活动表达了对传统文化的热爱，未来也定将带着对传统文化的更深沉的爱奔赴更远的山海。

“The moon hangs in the sky like a full moon, and in the fields in autumn, the smells and scents of everything are intertwined, forming a beautiful and pleasant picture of autumn colours”, it is the Mid-Autumn Festival for the family and the country; “When there is water in a thousand rivers, it naturally reflects the moon in the sky, and when there are no clouds in a million miles, it naturally reveals ten thousand miles of sky”，it is the mid-autumn of the year. All the families share the prosperity of the world, the bright moon to talk about reunion. To celebrate the birthday of our motherland, we are going to the appointment of the bright moon. The mountains and rivers are far away, the human world is full of fireworks, and another year we will have a reunion in a thousand miles. SUIS Hefei students expressed their love for traditional culture with a unique activity, and they will surely take their deeper love for traditional culture to farther mountains and seas in the future.
