云天收夏色，木叶动秋声。借清爽的秋风，赴一场美好的遇见。9月1日下午，我们邀请了一年级新生家长入校，召开小萌宝们入学的第一次家长会。

The cloudy sky collects the colours of summer, and the leaves of the trees move with the sound of autumn. On the afternoon of 1st September, we invited the parents of the new P1 students to the school for the first parent-teacher conference.

 

 

小学部主任陈竹主持了会议，他对家长们的到来表示热烈的欢迎，首先邀请了一年级教师团队亮相。中教和外教依次作自我介绍，大家各有风采，不同的语言诉说着共同的心声：我们的老师坚定地爱着孩子们，专业的爱着教育。趣味的现场互动亦展现着协和老师的幽默机智。

Director Bamboor Chen of the Primary School Section presided over the meeting. He warmly welcomed the parents and firstly invited the team of P1 teachers to make an appearance. The Chinese and foreign teachers introduced themselves one by one, each with their own style, and different languages spoke the common voice: our teachers firmly love children and professionally love education. The interesting on-site interaction also showed the humour and wit of SUIS HF’s teachers.

 

 

校长喻霞宣布合肥协和“一年级家长学校”正式启动。喻校长充分肯定本届一年级年轻化的家长群体，教育理念与时俱进，热爱终生学习，并对新生家长的到来表示真诚的欢迎。为促成家校教育共识，喻校长以“家校协力，共筑孩子幸福路”为题与家长沟通，开启了家长学校第一课，提出从发展心理学的角度了解孩子，以更加科学有效的方式与孩子沟通。“教育是师生、家长和孩子共同参与的精神活动”，无论何时，教育都是一个多元有机的过程。喻校长还细心讲解了许多专业术语，“儿童立场”、“多元智能理论”、“根雕法则”……不胜枚举，并且还细致介绍了“2分钟情绪管理法”。相信这些教育学心理学的干货，必然会帮助新生家长们更好地陪伴孩子们初入小学的时光。

Principal Wendy Yu announced the official launch of SUIS HF “P1 Parents School”. Principal Wendy Yu fully recognised the young parent group of the current P1 class, their up-to-date educational philosophy and love of lifelong learning, and extended a sincere welcome to the new parents.In order to promote a consensus on home-school education, Principal Wendy Yu communicated with parents on the topic of “home-school co-operation to build children’s happiness” and opened the first lesson of the Parents’ School, suggesting that we should understand our children from the perspective of developmental psychology, so that we can communicate with them in a more scientific and effective way. “Education is a spiritual activity in which teachers, students, parents and children participate together”, and it is a multifaceted and organic process at all times. Principal Wendy Yu also carefully explained many professional terms, “child’s position”, “Multiple Intelligences Theory”, “Root Sculpture Law” …… to name a few, and also meticulously introduced the “2-minute Emotion Management Method”. We believe that this knowledge of pedagogical psychology will certainly help new parents to better accompany their children in their first years of primary school.

 

 

接下来是一年级第一次的家长小课堂，由一年级的年级组长翁啸啸老师为家长们培训。翁老师从“心理准备”、“沟通方法”、“良好的行为习惯”三个方面，全面系统地向家长展示了一年级的学习特点以及家长们应怎样与学校配合，希望能一起帮助孩子尽快适应。翁老师的培训特意选取了一年级常见的几个经典情境，以实际例子引导家长思考，原来一年级的“小神兽”们果然是越来越有自己的想法，需要家长们更细致地观察；原来家校之间有更好的合作方式；原来培养孩子的良好习惯，对孩子的益处超乎想象。

Next was the first parent mini-class for P1, with P1 group  leader, Mr. Owen Weng, training the parents. From the three aspects of “Psychological Preparation”, “Communication Methods” and “Good Behavioural Habits”, Mr. Weng comprehensively and systematically showed parents the learning characteristics of P1 and how parents should cooperate with the school in order to help their children adapt to the school as soon as possible. Mr. Weng’s training specially selected a few classic situations common to P1 and guided parents’ thinking with practical examples. It turns out that first graders are really becoming more and more independent and need more careful observation by parents; it turns out that there are better ways to co-operate between home and school; and it turns out that fostering good habits in children will benefit them more than they can imagine.

 

 

新起点，“心”相遇，真诚沟通，携手育人。初秋金色的阳光下，家长们怀着期待而来，满载收获而归。我们相信在全体师生与家长的共同努力下，每一位协和学子都将在校园中茁壮成长，共同奔赴美好的未来。

New start, “heart” encounter, sincere communication, hand in hand with parenting. Under the golden sunshine in early autumn, parents came with expectations and returned with harvest. We believe that under the joint efforts of all teachers, students and parents, every student will grow up in the campus and go to a bright future together.
