There is such a lovely group of people, they watched the flowers burning yesterday, today to see the flowers want to fall; they will say every year outside the pavilion, by the ancient road, the grass is blue even the sky; they will tell a group of students the end of the world, the corner of the sea; they will depict a picture of the evening wind auxiliary flow of flute sound residual, the setting sun outside the mountains of the aesthetically pleasing picture; they have the ideals, goals, and the pursuit of the pursuit of the love of life, the love of reading, the love of education, and the love of life. They have quick thinking, they are good at arranging time reasonably, they swim in the sea of books to enrich their knowledge and enhance their personal taste, they record their reading feelings with the end of the pen, describe the sparks of thinking, and share the crystallisation of wisdom to show to everyone, they are the teachers of our SUIS HF.

协和读书分享会在欢快热烈的气氛中展开,结合协和特色课程P4C的理念,所有可爱的老师们在破冰环节中分为五组,进行小组合作,制作海报并讨论读书会分享的书籍。

The SUIS HF Book Sharing Session started in a cheerful and warm atmosphere. Combined with the concept of Xiehe’s special programme P4C, all the lovely teachers were divided into five groups during the ice-breaking session to work together in small groups, making posters and discussing the books to be shared in the Book Sharing Session.

Don’t let your youthful years go by in vain.

教育是点燃生命的火焰,教师教学要点燃学生心中的火焰,不负时光不负初心。刘保款老师带来的《翻转教学11法》这本书,介绍了以学生为中心的翻转课堂,从课前、课上、课后的学习活动入手,提供了很多优秀的教学案例,帮助教师们把传统的“满堂灌”,变成以学生为主导、师生积极互动的活跃课堂。

Education is to light the fire of life, and teacher teaching should light the fire in students’ hearts to live up to the time. The book “11 Methods of Flipped Teaching” brought by Mr. Liu Baodian introduces the student-centred flipped classroom, starting from the learning activities before, during and after class, and provides many excellent teaching cases, helping teachers to turn the traditional “classroom full of irrigation” into an active classroom with student-led and active interaction between teachers and students.

传统教育理念下,学生习惯了教师的一言堂。祝国雷老师带来的《准备》,再次提醒老师们,不断学习不断更新原有教育认知和习惯,以项目式教学为主来帮助学生成长和学习,设计项目式学习,去解答学生自主探索过程中的困惑;学生自选感兴趣的有意义的项目课题,自己去探索与发现。

Under the traditional education concept, students are used to the teacher’s one-liners. Mr. Zhu Guolei’s “Preparation” reminds teachers once again to keep learning and updating their original educational knowledge and habits, to help students grow and learn by focusing on project-based teaching and learning, and to design project-based learning to answer students’ confusion in the process of independent exploration; students will choose meaningful project topics of their own interest and explore and discover them on their own.

书籍是思想的航船,在时代的波涛中破浪前行。当人们选择不了自己的父母,却可通过读书和学习来改变命运,实现自我的解放与救赎。《我们都当像鸟,飞往我们的山》,冯琰老师将略有压抑的内容以轻松活泼的方式呈现出来,重申阅读可以帮助人们,重获新生。

Books are the ships of thought that break the waves of the times. While people cannot choose their parents, they can change their destiny through reading and learning, and achieve self-emancipation and redemption. In “Let’s All Be Like Birds, Flying to Our Mountain”, Mr.Feng Yan presents the slightly depressing content in a light and lively way, reaffirming that reading can help people to regain their lives.

留与儿孙夜读书

Leave children and grandchildren

to study at night.

劝君莫将油炒菜,留与儿孙夜读书。“你或许拥有无限的财富、一箱箱的珠宝与一柜柜的黄金,但你永远不会比我富有——我有一位读书给我听的妈妈。”桂春燕老师带来的《朗读手册》讨论在阅读驱动下,每个人都可以成为终身学习者。

I advise you not to fry your vegetables in oil, but to save them for your children and grandchildren to read at night. “You may have unlimited wealth, boxes of jewellery & cabinets of gold, but you will never be richer than me – I have a mother who reads to me.” Ms. Gui Chunyan presents The Read Aloud Handbook discussing how everyone can be a lifelong learner when driven by reading.

A book with many passions like an old friend.

书卷多情似故人,晨昏忧乐每相亲。“如果没有傅雷,就没有巴尔扎克在中国。”孙思尧老师分享的《这难得的世间》,介绍了在动荡的年代里老一辈的教育家对教育的理解和先进教育理念,老师们就其中一篇《傅聪的成长》,一起讨论了几个关于教育的问题:傅雷的教育观、教学方法、问题儿童和天才儿童、打压式教育。阅读文本之后进行头脑风暴,观点独到、精彩纷呈。

The scrolls are as affectionate as an old friend, and the morning and evening sorrows and joys are every bit as dear to each other. “Without Fu Lei, there would be no Balzac in China.” Ms. Sun Siyao shared “This Rare World”, which introduces the understanding of education and advanced education concepts of the older educators in the turbulent times. Teachers discussed several issues about education together on one of the articles, “Growing up of Fu Cong”: Fu Lei’s view of education, teaching methods, problematic and gifted children, and suppressive education. Brainstorming after reading the text was unique and exciting.

乘风破浪会有时,直挂云帆济沧海。英语组翁啸啸老师秉承协和中西融合的理念,协和人不断学习不断奋进的精神,介绍了英语老师的晋升阶梯考试,《TKT考试指南》。带领所有协和的英语老师们一起乘风破浪,砥砺前行。

Riding on the wind and waves, we will be able to sail straight through the sea. Mr. Weng Xiaoxiao of the English team, adhering to the concept of East Meets West and the spirit of continuous learning and advancement of Xiehe people, introduced the promotion ladder test for English teachers, “TKT Test Guide”. He led all the English teachers of SUIS HF to ride the wind and waves together and move forward.

读书如行路,历险乌惶恐。读书让人们更加能理解生命的厚重,更能承担生命的厚重。图书馆冶斐虹老师分享的《理解生命》,讲述了“生活不但是一门科学,也是一门艺术,更是对自我的不断追问和完善,若想活得美好,首先要打造一个美好的自我。”实现自我疗愈和自我认知。

Reading is like travelling on a road, and there is no fear of adventure. Reading makes people more able to understand the heaviness of life, and more able to bear the heaviness of life. Library teacher Ye Feihong shared “Understanding Life”, about “life is not only a science, but also an art, it is the continuous questioning and improvement of the self, if you want to live a good life, first of all, you have to build a good self.” Achieve self-healing and self-knowledge.

立志读尽人间书

Aspire to read all the books on earth.

校长喻霞在读书分享会压轴分享了《深度学习》这本书,意在鼓励协和老师们将读书作为终身事业,并将这份热爱阅读的精神传递给我们的学生。因为在一个创新日益成为集体努力的时代,一些所谓的“软技能”—— 领导能力、合作能力、适应能力,以及乐于学习和再学习的精神—至关重要。无论你在哪里工作,都是如此。因此,今天的学生需要的不是循规蹈矩、死记硬背,而是更多的指导和支持,帮助他们成为积极主动、能够将所学知识应用于不同情境的自主学习者。

Principal Ms. Yu Xia shared the book “Deep Learning” at the finale of the book sharing session, with the intention of encouraging SUIS HF teachers to make reading a lifelong endeavour and to pass on this love of reading to our students. Because in an era where innovation is increasingly a collective endeavour, some so-called “soft skills” – leadership, collaboration, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and relearn – are crucial. This is true no matter where you work. Today’s students, therefore, need more guidance and support to help them become proactive, self-directed learners who can apply what they have learnt in different contexts, rather than just following rules and memorising them.

这次的读书分享会,展现了协和人的读书精神——人人热爱阅读,人人畅享阅读,人人以阅读为乐。分享会结束后,协和老师们带着喻霞校长分享的推荐书目,快乐地迎接暑假,准备在假期继续阅读,将协和的阅读热情感染到身边的每个人,带动全民阅读。

This book sharing session demonstrated the reading spirit of Xiehe people – everyone loves reading, everyone enjoys reading, and everyone reads for fun. After the sharing session, teachers of SUIS HF happily greeted the summer holiday with the recommended books shared by Principal Ms. Yu Xia, ready to continue reading during the holiday, infecting everyone around them with Xiehe’s passion for reading and driving the whole nation to read.
