人间最美四月天，协和双语学校第三届校园科技节如约而至。“科学启迪智慧，科技创造未来”，为了全面推进素质教育，培养同学们的创造精神与实践能力，在校园内掀起一个学科学、爱科学、用科学的热潮，在我国第八个“中国航天日”，全校师生相聚在一起，拉开了本次科技节的序幕。

On the most beautiful April day in the world, the third Science and Technology Festival in SUIS HF arrived as promised. “Science enlighens wisdom, science and technology creates the future”, in order to comprehensively promote quality education, cultivate students’ creative spirit and practical ability, set off a wave of learning science, loving science and using science on campus, on the eighth “China Space Day”, the teachers and students gathered together, opening the prologue of this festival.

 

本次校园科技节的主题是“梦想向未来，科技伴成长。”从 4月24日至5月26日，在近一个月的时间里，学校将会开展一系列丰富多彩的科技活动。如：科普书展，航模制作，科学实验秀，科普剧和科学展等活动。

The theme of this festival is “Dream into the future, science and technology with growth”. From April 24th to May 26th, the school will organise a series of colorful scientific activities in nearly one month. There are popular science book fair, model airplane making, science experiment show, popular science play and science fair ,etc.

 

校长喻霞在开幕式上对同学们寄予了厚望，并指出创新是永恒的主题,中华民族的伟大复兴更加依赖于科技创新。目前,我国的经济总量增加很快,综合国力得到很大增强,人民生活水平得到较大提高,但我们应该清醒地认识到:我国的科技水平有待提高，芯片等核心科技还受制于西方。所以国家强调创新,强调教育要把培养学生的创造精神和实践能力作为重点。不能提出问题,不能打破常规,没有创新精神就不能推动社会的进步。

At the opening ceremony, Principal Ms. Wendy placed high hopes on the students and pointed out that innovation would be an eternal theme and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation depended more on scientific and technological innovation. At present, China’s economic aggregate is growing rapidly, and its comprehensive national strength has been greatly enhanced, and people’s living standards have been greatly improved. However, we should be clearly aware that our scientific and technological level needs to be improved, and core technologies such as chips are still subject to the West. Therefore, the state emphasizes innovation and emphasizes that education should focus on cultivating students’ creative spirit and practical ability. You can’t ask questions, you can’t break conventions, and you can’t promote social progress without the spirit of innovation.

 

教师代表小学部科学教师Mr. LIAM和英语教师Mr. Owen也在开幕式上鼓励同学们在科学学习上要敢于探究真理，通过提问去探索未知，保持创造力。希望同学们能继续学会质疑，继续探索，继续寻找科学领域的新英雄。

Mr. Liam, science teacher of primary school, and Mr. Owen, English teacher, also encouraged students to explore the truth in science learning, explore the unknown by asking questions, and maintain creativity. They hope the students will continue to learn to question, continue to explore, and continue to find new heroes in science.

科技节是创新的课堂，科技节是梦想的舞台。开幕式最后是无人机编队表演，那一架架无人机，宛如白色的精灵。在空中，或是列队，或是分散，或是翻滚，或是直冲云霄。这是高新科技与艺术的结合，通过程序提前编写好的舞蹈动作，加以音乐和灯光的设计，展示出了无人机飞行群队的魅力。

Science and technology festival is the classroom of innovation and the stage of dream. The opening ceremony ended with a drone formation performance, like white elves. In the air,they formation, or scatter, or roll, or straight into the sky. This is a combination of high technology and art, through pre-programmed dance movements, music and lighting design to show the charm of the drone flight group.

校园有了文化，就有了深厚的底蕴；校园有了科技，就有了创新的活力。我校举办一年一度的校园科技节，就是为了进一步推动学校科技创新教育活动的开展，营造出浓郁的科学探究氛围，最有效地激发全体同学崇尚科学的精神。

The campus has a profound background with culture; the campus has the vitality of innovation with science. Our school holds the annual campus science and technology festival to further promote the development of science and technology innovation education activities of the school, create a strong atmosphere of scientific inquiry to inspire all the students to advocate the spirit of science.
