草长莺飞,春暖花开。4月20日上午,合肥市包河区教研室陈福秋、刘云霄两位专家莅临我校小学部,观摩了英语组王冬梅老师、蒋艺舟老师和翁啸啸老师的公开课。

The grass grows and spring flowers bloom. On the morning of April 20th, two experts, Chen Fuqiu and Liu Yunxiao from the Education and Research Department of Baohe District, Hefei City, visited our primary school section to observe the public lessons of Queena Wang, Sweet Jiang and Owen Weng from the English group.

王老师的课是一年级的复习整合课。为解决语法、句型和词汇问题,为孩子的写作提供足够支撑,王老师从复习入手,利用“动物猜猜看” 活动,加强孩子们对主题词汇的理解能力。接下来带小朋友们一起去参观“动物园” 引导小朋友们思考从哪些方面去认识动物。以小组的形式,两两对话去熟练掌握目标句型。在任务阶段,王老师设计了各种活动,让小朋友们通过和不同的同伴进行采访询问熟练掌握句型,最终个人以演讲为形式陈述出自己设计的动物园的介绍。

Ms. Wang’s lesson is a revision and integration lesson for P1. To address grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary issues and to provide adequate support for the children’s writing, Ms. Wang starts with a review and uses the ‘Guess The Animal’ activity to strengthen the children’s understanding of the topic vocabulary. Next, we took the children on a visit to the ‘zoo’ and guided them to think about what they would like to know about animals. In small groups, the children talk in pairs to master the target sentence patterns. In the task stage, Ms. Wang designed various activities for the children to master the sentence patterns by interviewing different peers and finally presenting their own design of the zoo in the form of a speech.

 

 

蒋老师的课堂注重学生能力的培养,注重主体参与。本节课也在单元整体视角下进行的一个教学综合实践活动,并且通过唱歌,画画,融合一定的跨学科因素,培养学生人文底蕴,学会生存,健康生活等核心素养。以歌曲来进入主题,并且创设去合肥动物园的真实情境,通过不同感官不同方式来学习动物单词,让学生在丰富有趣的情境中感受学习英语的乐趣。句型的学习和复习循序渐进,通过击鼓传花游戏来激发兴趣,活跃课堂气氛来操练句型。最后通过采访同伴的动物园来小组合作,培养学生的综合运用能力和团队合作精神。并在整节课中让学生自然而然有了情感升华,要爱护动物。

Ms. Jiang’s classroom focuses on the development of students’ abilities and subject participation. This lesson is also an integrated practical activity within the overall perspective of the unit, and through singing and drawing, incorporates certain interdisciplinary elements to develop students’ core qualities such as humanistic heritage, learning to survive and healthy living. The theme is introduced by a song, and a real-life situation is created in which students learn animal words through different senses and in different ways, allowing them to experience the joy of learning English in a rich and interesting context. Sentence patterns are learnt and reviewed step by step, with drumming games to stimulate interest and liven up the classroom atmosphere to practise sentence patterns. At the end of the lesson, students work in small groups by interviewing their peers in a zoo to develop their general use skills and teamwork spirit. And throughout the lesson students have a natural emotional uplift to care for animals.

 

 

翁老师的课程是一节单词与句型学习的新课,从孩子们熟悉的主题——课程表引入,进行学科单词的学习。单词的教学过程中,翁老师融入了本节课的关键句型,同时遵循了新课标下的融合单元学习, 加入学生之前已学单词。知识点呈现之后,课堂中展开了紧张而又刺激的问答活动,学生在产出活动中分享了各自擅长的学科并再次巩固了本堂课的知识点。英语加油站板块中,翁老师针对不同学习能力的学生开展了分层教学,让学生了解英语表达的多样性。课程的末尾,翁老师提出了关于学科喜好的思考,提醒学生要全面且均衡发展,整堂课在欢快的氛围中结束。

Mr. Weng’s lesson is a new lesson in word and sentence learning, introducing the subject words from a familiar topic for the children – the curriculum. During the teaching of the vocabulary, Mr. Weng incorporated the key sentence patterns of the lesson, while following the integration of the unit of study under the new curriculum by adding words that the students had previously learned. After the presentation of the knowledge points, a tense and exciting quiz was held in the classroom, where students shared their expertise in the subject and re-enforced the knowledge points of the lesson. In the English Fuel Station section, Mr. Weng introduced students to the diversity of English expressions through a tiered approach for students of different learning abilities. At the end of the lesson, Mr. Weng offered a reflection on subject preferences, reminding students of the importance of a well-rounded and balanced development.

三位老师的课程结束后,两位专家与小学部的英语老师在我校会议室开展了一场评课活动。专家组对我校英语课堂给予了高度的肯定。专家说道:“协和学校老师的整体英语素养很高,学生的英语能力很强。协和孩子都是有特点的,具有扎实的基本功,语言形式与框架饱满,能看出老师们在日常英语教学中付出了很多的心血。”同时,两位专家也和三位老师的授课提出了一些建议,与所有教师分享了教学心得,希望老师们能够继续在新课标的引领下产出更多优秀的课程。

After the three teachers’ sessions, the two experts and the English teachers from the Primary School Section conducted an evaluation session in our school meeting room. The group of experts gave high praise to our English classes. The experts said, “The overall English language skills of the teachers at SUIS HF are very high and the students are very good at English. The children at SUIS HF are all distinctive, with solid basic skills, full of language forms and frameworks, and you can see that the teachers put a lot of effort into teaching English on a daily basis.” At the same time, the two experts also made some suggestions with the three teachers’ lessons, shared their teaching experience with all teachers and hoped that the teachers would continue to produce more excellent lessons under the leadership of the new curriculum.

最后,我校喻霞校长表示,我校一向追求的是激发学生学习的内驱力,始终把激发学生学习兴趣,培养孩子学习能力,提升学生学习动力放在最中心的位置。老师无论在备课,上课,课后的复盘与反思时,都会始终将学生放在第一位。喻霞校长也希望在两位专家的引领下,老师们要以听课、评课为抓手,不断提升自身业务精进的能力,让英语组能够成为全校独树一帜的,具有带头和示范作用的教研组。

Finally, our school principal, Wendy Yu, said that our school has always sought to stimulate the internal drive of students to learn, always putting the stimulation of students’ interest in learning, the development of children’s learning ability, and the enhancement of students’ motivation to learn at the very centre. Our teachers always put the students first in their lesson preparation, teaching, review and reflection after the lesson. Principal Wendy Yu also hopes that under the leadership of the two experts, the teachers will take listening to and evaluating lessons as a grip to continuously improve their own business refinement, so that the English group can become a unique, leading and exemplary teaching and research group in the whole school.
