华罗庚说:“宇宙之大,粒子之微,火箭之速,化工之巧,地球之变,生物之谜,日月之繁,无处不用数学。”为了让学生更全面地懂数学、爱数学、用数学,小学部举办了以“智慧数学,乐享成长”为主题的数学活动周。各年级组织了丰富多彩的数学活动,让学生在参与活动中得到锻炼,增强学习数学的信心,感受学习数学的快乐。

Hua Luogeng said, “The universe is big, the particles are small, the rockets are fast, the chemical industry is clever, the earth is changing, the mysteries of biology, the sun and the moon are complicated, and mathematics is used everywhere.” In order to enable students to understand, love and use maths in a more comprehensive way, the Primary Section organised a Maths Activity Week with the theme of “Growing up with Mathematics”. All grades organised a variety of mathematical activities to enable students to participate in the activities, enhance their confidence in learning mathematics and feel the joy of learning mathematics.

《七巧板创意画》

“Creative Tangram Paintings”

 

当冬日的暖阳穿过枝桠,照耀着美丽的校园,此时此刻,一年级小朋友们入学以来第一次数学活动周活动正在如火如荼地进行着。本次一年级数学活动主题是《七巧板创意画》,分为三个部分进行,首先由数学老师带着孩子们走进神秘的七巧板世界,介绍七巧板的发展历史,指导孩子们如何用七巧板组合出各式各样的图形,孩子们被深深地吸引住了。

As the warm winter sun shone through the branches of our beautiful school, the first Maths Week for P1 children was in full swing at the moment. The theme of this P1 maths activity was “Creative Tangram Paintings”, which was divided into three parts. Firstly, the maths teacher took the children into the mysterious world of tangrams, introduced the history of the development of tangrams and instructed them how to combine various shapes with tangrams, the children were fascinated.

 

孩子们充分利用老师发放的材料,结合自己的创意,用七巧板拼出了一幅幅多姿多彩的图画。

The children made full use of the materials given out by the teachers and combined their creativity to create a colourful picture with the tangrams.

《点阵图作画》《速算小达人》

“Dot Plot Drawing” &

“Little Speed Calculators”

二年级的活动在“点阵图作画”中拉开帷幕,孩子们展开想象的翅膀,运用已经学过的正方形、长方形、三角形、圆形、平行四边形等,拼画出美丽的图形,色彩斑斓,天马行空,充满数学的趣味!作品展出后,孩子们手持选票,参观并给自己喜欢的作品投票,最终评选出“最佳人气奖”、“最佳设计奖”、“最佳创意奖”。

The P2 activity kicked off with a “Dot Plot Drawing” in which the children spread their imagination and used the squares, rectangles, triangles, circles and parallelograms they had already learnt to draw beautiful shapes, which were colourful, unpredictable and full of mathematical fun! After the works were displayed, the children visited and voted for their favourite works with ballot papers in hand, and finally selected the “Best Popularity Award”, “Best Design Award” and “Best Creativity Award”.

速算比赛紧张又有序,孩子们摩拳擦掌,全力以赴。平时努力练兵,孩子们在此时展现出真正的实力。经过激烈的角逐,年级组评选出“速算小达人”。

The speed calculation competition was intense and well organised, with the children giving it their all. Having practised hard, the children showed their true strength at this time. After a fierce competition, the year group selected the “Little Speed Calculators”.

《口算小达人》《创意轴对称》

“Little Master of Arithmetic” “Axisymmetric Creative Paintings”

 

口算是计算的基础,良好的口算能力能提高学生思维的敏捷性、逻辑性以及准确性。三四年级组织了“口算小达人”竞赛。通过这次活动,同学们纷纷表示收获颇多,计算速度和正确率在训练后有明显提升。

Good oral calculation skills improve the agility, logic and accuracy of students’ thinking. In P3 and P4, a competition was organised for the “Little Master of Arithmetic”. Through this activity, students reported that they had gained a lot and their calculation speed and correctness had improved significantly after the training.

 

 

漂亮的蝴蝶,多彩的民族剪纸,各类贴画设计,是出自三四年级同学的妙手,大家利用课余时间充分发挥自己的创意,制作属于自己的“轴对称创意画”,充分显示了孩子们爱画画的天性。在评比活动中,孩子们给自己心仪的作品投出了自己宝贵的一票。这样的数学活动既提高了他们学习数学的兴趣,又锻炼了学生的动手操作能力,进一步感受到数学的生活美和趣味。

The beautiful butterflies, colourful ethnic paper cut-outs and various sticker designs came from the wonderful hands of P3 and P4 students, who used their spare time to make full use of their creativity to create their own “axisymmetric creative paintings”, fully demonstrating the children’s love of drawing and painting. In the judging activity, the children cast their votes for their favourite works. Such mathematical activities not only enhanced their interest in learning mathematics, but also exercised their hands-on skills and further enhanced their sense of the beauty and fun of mathematics in life.

《莫比乌斯杯数学积分赛》

“Möbius Cup Maths Points Competition”

德国数学家、天文学家莫比乌斯和约翰·李斯丁在1858年发现了一个神奇的数学结构——莫比乌斯环。莫比乌斯环是一种只有一个面(表面)和一条边界的曲面。这种看似复杂的数学结构,却可以用一条纸带旋转半圈,再把两端粘上之后轻而易举地制作出来。如果我们沿着莫比乌斯环的表面漫步,我们永无法抵达尽头,而这也体现了数学的充满未知与无穷无尽,等待我们人类不断探索与发现。

German mathematicians and astronomers Möbius and Johann Listin discovered an amazing mathematical structure, the Möbius ring, in 1858. A Möbius ring is a surface with only one face (surface) and one boundary. This seemingly complex mathematical structure can be easily created by spinning a piece of paper tape half a turn and gluing the ends together. If we were to walk along the surface of a Möbius ring, we would never reach the end, and this is a reflection of the unknowns and endlessness of mathematics that await us as human beings to explore and discover.

 

 

今年的数学活动周上,我们以莫比乌斯为名,在五年级和六年级开展了第一届莫比乌斯杯数学积分赛。在积分赛中,学生们须在规定时间内,自主判断难度选择合适题卡,严谨高效完成方可获得比赛积分。本次比赛既锻炼了学生们的数学思维,也是对学生问题决策能力与心理素质的一场挑战。

This year’s Maths Week saw the first Möbius Cup Maths Points Competition in P5 and P6 under the name Möbius. In the points competition, students had to judge the difficulty of the problems on their own and choose appropriate problem cards within a set time frame, and complete them rigorously and efficiently to earn points for the competition. The competition was an exercise in mathematical thinking as well as a challenge to the students’ problem solving and mental skills.

 

通过这次活动,我们一起感受了数学的魅力,共享了奇妙的数学,智慧的火花在这里彰显,无限的潜能在这里激发。希望我们的校园里能涌现出更多的酷爱数学的“小小数学家”,我们也将怀揣数学梦继续前行!

Through this activity, we have experienced the charm of mathematics and shared the wonders of mathematics, where wisdom is revealed and unlimited potential is stimulated. We hope that more “little mathematicians” with a love of mathematics will emerge in our campus, and we will continue to walk with our mathematical dreams in mind!
