创意无穷如星河浩瀚，在温暖的冬季与校园烟火撞个满怀。这是一场全新的体验，也是一次精彩的对决。在竞赛与舞台融入在一起的时刻，我校小学部第四届英语拼词大赛决赛正如火如荼地开展。

Creativity is as endless as a river of stars, colliding with school fireworks on a warm winter day. It was a new experience and an exciting showdown. At a time when the competition and the stage were merging together, the final of our Primary Section 4th Spelling Bee was in full swing.

经历了前几周的活动预热，参赛选手“小蜜蜂们”的热情早早地就被点燃了。在校园里的缪斯剧院中，学生们分成了高、低年级组分别开展比赛。
After the first few weeks of Spelling Bee warm-up, the enthusiasm of the “Little Bees” was ignited early on. In the Muse Theatre on school, students were divided into senior and junior groups for the competition. 

 

比赛中，协和学子化身为勤劳机智的“小蜜蜂”，在魅力非凡的拼词世界中认真汲取养分。他们拼速度、拼积累、拼准确率！平日里的日积月累，让自己在舞台上大放光彩！
In the competition, students of SUIS HF were hard-working and resourceful “Little Bees”, taking in the fascinating world of spelling words. They fought for speed, for accumulation, for accuracy! They were able to shine on the stage with their day-to-day efforts!
 

 

在比赛内容方面，英语老师们前期进行了充分的准备工作。每个组别的英语单词都有不同的难度系数，分别为“简单”，“普通”，“困难”。既包含基础日常词汇，又包含拓展性科学词汇。比赛采用现场拼词的方式，给大家带来了精彩纷呈、激动人心的比赛现场。
The English teachers prepared well for the content of the competition. Each group had a different difficulty level of English words, namely “Easy”, “Medium” and “Hard”. They included both basic everyday vocabulary and extended scientific vocabulary. The competition was a live spelling competition, which gave everyone a wonderful and exciting experience.

 

经历了热火朝天的比拼之后，总决赛在现场掌声迭起的氛围中落下帷幕。让我们恭喜获得荣誉的学生，也让我们为参与到活动的每一位孩子点赞！
After a fierce competition, the finals came to an end with a lot of applause. Let’s congratulate the students who won the honours, and let’s give a shout-out to every student who participated in the event!

这是我第一次参加学校组织的比赛。刚开始我很兴奋，站到台上时我又有点害怕。在家里妈妈带着我练习，比赛前王老师为我加油！明年我还想参加比赛，我也一定会好好准备，争取得到更好的成绩！
It was my first time to participate in a school competition. I was very excited at first and a bit scared when I stepped on the stage. At home my mum took me to practice and Queena Wang cheered me on before the competition! I want to take part in the competition again next year and I will definitely prepare well to get a better result!

听到自己夺冠的那一刻我心里惊喜万分！谢谢在台下为我加油的老师和同学们，他们给了我极大的鼓励。谢谢我的英语老师Hedy和外教老师Paul, Ali, Rebecca, Gim，老师们的教导让我在英语学习的道路上一路向前。我希望以后能继续用兴趣助推自己的英语学习，多看原版书籍，力争听说读写都越来越好。
I was so surprised when I heard that I had won! Thank you to my teachers and students who cheered me on from the stage, they gave me a lot of encouragement. Thank you to my English teacher Hedy and my foreign teachers Paul, Ali, Rebecca and Gim, who have helped me along the path of learning English. I hope I can continue to use my interest to help me learn English, read more original books and try to get better at reading, writing and listening.

This year’s spelling bee was a great success. All of the participating students rigorously prepared for the final and it was evident across all of the grades during the competition. The judges where extremely impressed with the vocabulary of the students, but feel that grades 2,3 and 4 demonstrated a very high level of ability for such a young age. The overall winners of the competition far surpassed the expectations of the judges, and we hope all students are inspired by their efforts and success. Needless to say, every student worked tirelessly before and during the competition, which contributed to such a successful Spelling Bee. We are even more excited for next year’s competition. Well done and congratulations!

一个个小小的单词，却拥有大大的神奇力量。奖杯和荣誉并不是活动的终点，相信在这场活动中，英语学习的种子一定会深深的种在协和学子的心里。协和学子也将用自己的努力向大家展示着中国少年的坚持与梦想——“拼词，拼世界”。英语拼词大赛，我们明年见！
A small word has a big magical power. The trophies and honours are not the end of the event. I believe that the seeds of English learning will be planted deeply in the hearts of SUIS HF students during this event. SUIS HF students will also use their efforts to show everyone the persistence and dreams of Chinese teenagers – “Spelling words, spelling the world”. See you next year for the Spelling Bee.
